DIY Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo, my best friend, you’re always there for me. Seriously though, my dry shampoo is a SAVIOR.
I only wash my hair 2-3x a week (depending on my workouts or patients coughing in my hair lol) but the rest of the days I use a dry shampoo! I was using the canned spray shampoo but its honestly such a big waste and horrible for the environment by the way by using propane and butane, nobody wants that on their scalp! So I made my own, I have both of these ingredients in my pantry at all times anyways!
Did you know it actually damages your hair more by washing it daily?! It strips your hair of all its natural oils and drys out your hair, making it more brittle. Using a more natural dry shampoo you know what is exactly going on your head and you can control how little or how much you use. By using cornstarch it soaks up any excess oil without totally drying out your scalp and hair.
Okay, let’s get to it!
Ingredients:
2 tbs corn starch
1-2 tbs cocao powder (depending how dark your hair is)
How it’s made:
Get a cute jar or reuse an old container, simply put in your corn starch and cocoa powder! I used only 1 tbs of cocao because my hair is on the lighter side.
Mix powders until combined, then YOU’RE DONE! Use a brush and brush onto roots when they need a little refresher, use hands to work it into roots until powder soaks in.
Simple as that! Hope this is your new BFF, because it sure is mine!
