Yoga Mat Cleaner
If you have been following me for years or have known me for years you know yoga is one of my passions, I've been practicing yoga for the past 9 years and have been loving every moment of it. It bring me inner peace and happiness, plus with all the weight lifting I do my body thanks me! I bring my mat with me to classes, use it almost daily and its fair share of dirt and dust because I'm going to be honest…I haven't cleaned in in a few months. Yikes, I know. I ran out of my mat cleaner and I only like to clean it with certain cleaners because I've had my mat for 9 years and it still looks new and I'd love to keep it that way! So I actually saw on Pintrest that witch hazel is good for cleaning mats, who would have guessed! I used to use it on my face all the time so it has to be gentle enough to clean my precious mat. LOL, yes that's how much I love my mat. So I tweaked my own measurements for my personal liking and I wanted to share it with you guys.
Ingredients:
12-16 oz spray bottle
1 c water
1/3 c witch hazel (I used unscented)
10-20 drops essential oils (I used tea tree oil because it has anti-bacterial properties + it smells amazing. Next time I'm trying out lavender.)
Let’s do this!
Measure out your witch hazel and water, I put mine into a jar and shook until combined but feel free to put it directly into your spray bottle.
Add 10-20 drops of your essential oil of choice into your spray bottle and shake again. Ta-da!
To use: Spray mixture directly on mat, wipe clean with clean linen or towel. Air dry before rolling mat back up to avoid any molding, mildew or smell.
